Homecoming
What a long, but fun day! Saturday was Homecoming at UNT, so it was off to Denton first thing in the morning! We went to the Delta Sig house, so Aaron could attend the alumni meeting. Thank goodness for Nicole, Kate and Elle...if they weren't there Ava & I would have been really bored! It had been a really long time since we had been there...and Kate & I decided that this was Ava & Elle's first and last time to EVER step foot in a fraternity house!! ;)
After the long and boring wait for the meeting to be over, we headed over to the parking lot to tailgate with the Hinckleys. What a set up they had!!! I was very impressed, and I'm still trying to figure out how they got that all set up by themselves with 3 kiddos! There was food, a tent, chairs, a pack n play (also known as baby jail), and these oh so delicious peanut butter things that Katie made...we'll just call them little drops of heaven b/c they were that good! I probably ate... well all of them! Well done, Hinckleys!
At 2 ish we met up with the Palmers and headed over to watch the parade... where we fully expected to see an elephant. We did not. Kinda disappointed about it. Rob, however, decided that Elle and Ava needed to be in the parade. So he and Aaron grabbed the girls and the strollers (matching strollers, I might add) and hopped into the parade at the first break they saw. The babies thoroughly enjoyed all of the attention...as did the boys, I'm sure! Rob seems to think the girls have inherited attention loving from their mothers...I can't speak for Kate, but I tend to agree. Of course our camera was in the car the entire time, so I didn't capture any of the day's shenanigans.
The rest of the day was spent mingling and catching up with people we haven't seen in forever. And I honestly thought it was a ridiculous notion to expect Ava to make it all the way to the game at 6. But, she did!! She's such a good girl. She had a couple of little naps throughout the day, and she was ready to go! We didn't make it through the whole game, in fact we left mid-way through the 3rd quarter...but that was okay because the Mean Green ended up losing 48-28. Poor Mean Green.
Like I said, our camera never made it out of the car, but Jammi's did! She has some good pics on her blog if you want to check it out! (There's a link on the left.)
