Party fit for a Princess
I guess I should say parties, since Ava Grace had 2 parties for her 1st birthday. We went down to Red Oak on Friday for her first party. My mom and dad were nice enough to have a family party for her. Ava had tons of fun being the center of attention and got lots of good presents! And, my granny made the most precious and delicious cake! I, being the the front runner for mom-of-the-year, forgot my camera for my daughter's first birthday party. Wow. I did, however, take pictures with my mom's camera, but since they live in the boon docks, and it is not even possible for them to have high-speed internet, I haven't been able to get any of them yet. As soon as I get the CD from my mom, I will definitely share!
For her other first birthday party, we had everyone over to casa de Cardwell. I can't remember the last time our house was that clean! It was nice while it lasted. Anyhoo...we had fajitas, chips, queso, jalapeno poppers, and cake. Oh, the cake! Ava had a great time with her little "smash" cake....after she threw a fit first...apparently she did NOT want to sit in her high chair. She had red face, tears and all...that is until I put that cake in front of her, and then she went to town. Cake was EVERYWHERE!! In her hair, on the wall, and I'm pretty sure I just now...today...found cake on the underside of her high chair. She had a good time, to say the least. We all did, actually! Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate our baby girl's first birthday!! Here are just a few of the 100 pictures that we took:

Ava and Daddy
Mmmm, cake.
"But, Mommy, I don't wanna sit in my high chair!!"
"Oh, there's cake...for me?!? Well, that changes everything!"
"Yay for cake!! Anyone want any? No, just me! Okay!!!"
"Well, since no one else wants any, I'll just put in ALL IN MY HAIR!!"
