Fun, Food and Fireworks

For the 4th this year, we went to the Cusanos for their annual 4th of July party. There was awesome food courtesy of Chef Mark, and I'm pretty sure I ate my weight in brisket, bbq beans, potatoes and mac n cheese! Yum!! And even though there were quite a few families out of town, we had a great time hangin with the Cusanos, Degeles, Cannons and Mincheys. We mostly swam, sat around the pool and had good conversation. As always, I wish I would have taken more pictures, but since my camera's not waterproof, I left it safely on the patio table while we were all in the pool.

Swimmin with daddy

Ava enjoyed some of Chef Mark's blueberry cake...it was delish!!

We left the Cusanos around 6:30 and headed home to change so that we could meet my parents in McKinney for Red, White and Boom! What a cool set up they had!! There were hot air balloons that were awesome, a music stage where Josh Gracin was performing, and a huge kids area with tons of blow up slides and bounce houses and stuff. We missed the fly over, which would have been so cool for Ava to see, since she loves airplanes. She had fun anyway...her entire goal for the evening was to get down and run around. She ran everywhere! And I so wish I would have captured her face when she saw grammy and poppy...so cute! She got so excited and ran as fast as she could to them! LOVE IT! Anyway, we found "the perfect spot" to watch the fireworks show...and it was awesome!! Ava loved the show and the booms and all of the colors...she truly enjoyed it...which made me smile!! Fireworks are my absolute FAVORITE!! The louder, the better...and it was so much fun to share that experience with her...and for her to actually enjoy it!! Yay! I can't wait for next year!!

Trying her very hardest to escape daddy's clutches...
must get down...must run around!

I tried to get the hot air balloons in the background...it was too dark :(

waiting for the show to begin

Oooooooo....Ahhhhhhh

Never looks as good in pictures as it does in person!
