our little lake vacation
Two weekends ago we went up to Oklahoma with 5 other families to Lake Tenkiller to go “camping.” Now when I say camping, I don’t really mean camping. If you know me at all, you know I do.not.camp. Camping and I just don’t get along...its just not my thing. So we did what was our version of camping, which was to rent condos and drive 10 minutes to the lake. And that, my friends, was so much fun!
We got there Friday around 6 pm and spent the weekend in the “wilderness” with our good friends. Saturday was spent at the lake, where we rented a pontoon boat and drove it to our own private island…yep, we had it all to ourselves. There was a fire pit already there, and a little beach area and lots of shade for us… so we had it made. We spent all day on that little island swimming, lounging, grilling hot dogs and hamburgers, and roasting marshmallows to make s’mores…yummy! The kids had a blast and the adults had fun too! It was a fun little trip, and I would totally do it again! “Camping” in condos is the only way to go!

when we got back to the cabins, it was time for dinner…so, we set up outside and had a picnic. the weather was fantastic!
I’m so sad that I missed out on story time! I laid down with Ava with every intention of getting up and joining the adults once she fell asleep. However, I was out the minute my head hit the pillow, and I didn’t wake up until 1:30 am. By then, everyone had gone to bed and I missed out on “story time.” Boo. :(

So much fun! Will you email the info of where you stayed? We are always looking for somewhere new and fun to go!
And yes, "I'm on a boat" freakin rocked! Joe and I die laughing every time!
