Catchin up
Its been a crazy week it seems! I'll start out with Sunday. We had a great Mother's Day! We went down to Red Oak where we celebrated Mother's Day, my mom's birthday and my birthday with my family....which was so much fun! I love that we get together for holidays and birthdays! Aaron and Ava surprised me with an iPod nano...how cool is that!! Aaron picked it out all by himself...no hints or anything! Good job, honey...I love it!
While we were down at my parents house, we got a call from Derek (because we missed the call from Kyle) that the Palmers had been in a pretty serious accident on their way home from Childress. Thankfully, and miraculously, everyone is okay and they just have some bumps, bruises, cuts and scrapes. After seeing pictures of their Tahoe, I can't believe that they all walked away from that accident. Well, technically Jammi and Korb were ambulanced away and then Jammi was helicoptered...but they are okay now, and that's what matters!! What a blessing!! Anyway, that night Aaron and Derek went to Wichita Falls to pick them up and bring them back. And we all went over to their house on Monday basically to give everyone hugs and just be there.
Tuesday was the day of TUBES! We had to be at the hospital at 5:30 AM and her procedure was at 7. We got there and got checked in...no problem. They came and got Ava at around 6:50 and Dr. Mehendale came out at 6:57 to let us know that they were done and she did great!! Less than 10 minutes!!! She was a bit grumpy afterwards...probably a combo of being tired, hungry and the anesthesia hadn't worn off. But we got home at 7:30, fed her breakfast and put her down for a nap...and when she woke up 2 hours later, she was a new baby! Dr. M said that they suctioned out a LOT of thick, jell-o like fluid that had just been sitting in her ears...too thick to drain. Gross, I know...but poor baby! No wonder she couldn't hear! I so wish we would've done this sooner!! Anyway, she's doing GREAT and hopefully we will be done with ear infections!!
And, last night we got to go visit the newest member of Team Degele...Madison Elaine. Congrats you guys...she's beautiful!
Sorry for such a long post...I felt the need to catch everyone up! If you read this much, you deserve a cookie! I'll post some pics of mother's day as soon as I get them from my mom.
Later gators!
