What happened to my laid back baby?
So, lately (as in this week) Ava hasn't been taking very good naps. She's usually a pretty good napper... taking one a day for about 2 hours give or take a few minutes. However...this week, she's decided that 30 minutes is just fine. Um, no. That is not okay with me...not only does it limit my "me" time, she's in a horrible mood all day long! Now, there are two possible reasons for Ava's newly developed short nap syndrome:
1) She's getting her "i teeth" and they hurt ...or
2) she has another cold (the 2nd one this month!!) and she can't sleep b/c she can't breathe....I'm guessing its probably a combo of both.
Anyway, that's just the "background info" for my story. So today, after putting her down for her nap, she cried and yelled, and jumped up and down in her bed and then finally got quiet...and I thought, good she's finally asleep. It was quiet for about 5 minutes, and then I heard this loud bang...sounded like Aaron dropped something heavy in his 'closet office,' so I ignored it....until I heard the little pitter patter of tiny feet coming down the hall. My door opens up, and a stinker toot named Ava Grace walks over to me and says, "Hiiiiiieeee" with the biggest, proudest smile on her face. That little terd CLIMBED OUT OF HER CRIB!!!!!! What?!?!?! Seriously?!?!?!? After the initial shock wore off, I took her back to her crib and hid in the closet until she fell asleep. She didn't try to climb out again, but what am I going to do?!?! I can't be hiding in her closet every time she takes a nap or goes to bed, and she is definitely not ready for a toddler bed. Is it really okay to put one of those crib tent things over the top so they can't climb out??? Cuz that's lookin like a pretty good option right now!

I have known several people who have used the "tents" and loved them. I have known several children who have loved sleeping under them too. Have fun with all that!
