Chicago, Chicago!

What a week! We had such a good time in Chi-town! My mom, grandma, Ava and I all went up to Chicago last week for a much needed visit. I was a little worried about the plane ride...I just knew we were going to be "those people with the screaming baby"....not so!! Our little munchkin was the best baby!!! She took a little nap, played with her grammy, read books (or chewed on them)...all in all she was a great little flier! Once we got to Chicago, our plan was to check into the hotel, freshen up and head on over to my Aunt and Uncle's house for a Blumer Family party! However, our plan was a little delayed by the stupid rental car seat (or car seats, I should say!) We thought it would be much easier to rent a car seat rather than bring Ava's humongous one... next time, we'll just bring hers! The first one had broken styrofoam, the second one was disgustingly filthy and had NO styrofoam, the third one (and the last one they had) not only had no styrofoam, the latch system was completely screwed up! So, after over an hour of installing and un-installing car seats, we ended up using the first one...what a pain!!!! Finally, we were on our way! Ava got to meet her Blumer family, and of course she was the hit of the party! She had so much fun playing with everyone and getting her picture taken! And even after a long day of traveling she was in a good mood!

The rest of our vacation was spent visiting with friends and family....Ava got to meet the rest of her Dempsey and Munzer families.... shopping and eating at yummy restaurants. We had so much fun and miss everyone already! Here are just a few of the pictures from our visit.

Lori and Ava...Lori is one of my mom's best friends. They've known each other for a LONG time!! I love when they get together and I get to hear stories about "back in the day!!"

This is at Portillos...it was one of my Papa Dempsey's favorite places to eat. We can't go to Chicago without eating at Portillos!! They have awesome hot dogs!!!

On Tuesday we went to Nana's house in downtown Chicago. I LOVE her house!! It will be 100 years old next year! Ava had fun hanging out with her Great-Great Grandma!!!
